Some examples occur when an individual, falls due to a pothole in a public way, defective stairs or railing on a stairway, a slip due to an unnatural accumulation of ice or snow, improper lighting, and a fall in a grocery or department store due to improper maintenance. When a slip and fall happens, it is important to obtain photographs of the defect or substance, determine what caused you to fall, report the incident as soon as possible and/or obtain witnesses information after the accident.
