Clerk’s Hearing
Wood & Gresham, P.C. uses their knowledge of the district court system and represents individuals who have been arrested for a misdemeanor crime and have received notice in the mail to attend a clerk’s hearing. A clerk’s hearing is known as a “show cause” hearing, wherein a Defendant is asked to attend a hearing to make a determination as to whether a criminal misdemeanor charge should issue against the potential Defendant. Most people do not realize that when they attend a clerk’s hearing they are facing criminal charges.
